Scholarship
After graduating from St. John's College, I studied classics and philosophy at Cambridge University, the University of Chicago, and Princeton University. I then worked as a research academic for a number of years, at McGill University, Auburn University, and UMBC (University of Maryland Baltimore County). The work below was written and published during those years, aided by my wonderful teachers and colleagues at these institutions, as well as by generous fellowships from Center for Hellenic Studies and from the Madison Program at Princeton University. The paper on Law and Moral Education is the tip of the iceberg of a vast project that I have worked on intermittently ever since.
